Coushatta Tribe Breaks Ground on Feather Fuel Travel Plaza in Iowa, Louisiana
🐊 KNGT 🐊 | Louisiana — Big things are happening right down the road, buddy. The Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana just broke ground on their brand-new Feather Fuel Travel Plaza in Iowa, Louisiana, and this thing’s gonna be a game changer for travelers and locals alike.
Set to open in the summer of 2026, the new plaza is gonna be packed with everything you could need for a road trip stop. We’re talking 24 gas pumps for folks just passing through, plus 7 big diesel lanes for truckers who keep America rolling. And it ain’t just a place to fill up your tank, they’re adding a fresh deli, a grab-and-go menu, and even a drive-thru so you can swing in, grab something good, and hit the road again without missing a beat.
Now, if you’ve ever been through Iowa, you know it’s the perfect spot for something like this. Right off I-10, between Lake Charles and Jennings, that stretch stays busy day and night. This new travel plaza is gonna bring jobs, traffic, and a little more energy to the area, and folks around here know the Coushatta Tribe does things right.
The Tribe already runs one of the biggest and best casinos in Louisiana up in Kinder, but this new Feather Fuel project shows they’re expanding their footprint and investing in more Louisiana communities. They’re not just building a business, they’re building opportunity.
Construction has already started, and if all goes as planned, we’ll see that grand opening in the summer of 2026. I don’t know about y’all, but I’m already thinking about grabbing a po’boy and some boudin from that deli the first week it opens.
So, next time you’re cruising I-10 near Iowa, take the Hwy 165 exit, and keep an eye out for that new Feather Fuel Travel Plaza in the summer of 2026. It’s another big step forward for the Coushatta Tribe, and another win for Southwest Louisiana.
