Grant Parish Village (Colfax, Dry Prong, Pollock, Georgetown, Montgomery, Creola, Rock Hill, and Prospect) - Collected a record-setting 93% of its budget from citation revenue.
Woodworth
A Rapides Parish town known for collecting record-setting citation revenues.
Fenton
A small town that's known as a "speed trap town" because of its sudden speed limit drops. Police officers often wait near the speed limit drop to catch speeders, writing about 16 tickets per day on average.
Baskin - where the speed limit suddenly and drastically drops near a municipality. In 2021, Baskin, along with Dodson, Reeves, Robeline, and Tullos, topped 80% of their budgets from fines and fees
Dodson -A long-standing rep for being a notorious speed trap town. It generated more than half of its revenue from traffic citations with a total of $717 in citation revenue per resident, the fourth highest in the state.
Fisher, McNar, and Merryville - Evelyne Bornier sued the town of McNar after being pulled over and given a citation for 70mph. She invited the officer to bring her Chevy Venture to 70 mph and if he could she'd pay the ticket. He declined. Her argument was her van had a broken suspension system and could barely top 50 mph.
Tickfaw - Despite the COVID-19 pandemic Tickfaw traffic enforcement increased in 2020. During the stay-at-home order, fnes and fees still climbed from $280,000 to $294,000.
Tullos - Notorious for being a speed trap town.
