Lake Charles Update: The Latest on Hurricane Laura Recovery

Here is the latest news you can use when it comes to recovery for Lake Charles. The Mayor's Action hotline is back in action again, and you can call with any issues that are pressing in the community. Residents may call 337-491-1346, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm.

Also, city parks and playgrounds are all closed until further notice. This is due to ongoing damage assessments in the city and includes recreation centers, outdoor picnic areas, walking trail, and play structures that are often utilized in the parks.

Good news for those who are wanting to have their garbage picked up. The city has resumed its normal collection routes. This is only for household items and waste. Due to debris piles and low limbs, the trucks may not be able to access your can, so keep that in mind. If you have any questions, call 337-491-1442.

Storm debris contractors are currently collecting roadside debris. All residents should place debris as close to the roadside as possible without blocking the roadway.
