Rice Beats LSU To Force Winner Take All Game Today

In a marathon NCAA regional over the past four days due to weather, the regional has been extended one more day after Rice came back to beat LSU last night.

LSU took the lead 4-3 in the top of the 5th inning scoring three runs but the Rice Owls came back in the bottom of the 5th to post three runs of their own to take the lead 7-4.  Rice then posted another three spot in the bottom of the 7th inning to lead 10-4.

LSU and the rally possum tried to make a comeback posting two runs in the top of the 8th but that is all the Tigers could muster and ultimately lost 10-6.

The loss now has forced a game seven which will be played today at 4:00 p.m.  The winner of the game will advance to the NCAA Super Regional best out of three game series.

Good news LSU fans, The tigers and Owls game will be televised live on national TV.  The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU today at 4pm.
