Back To 2015, When We Interviewed Tracy Byrd At Iowa Rabbit Festival

From time to time, we go back to the archives to share with you some of the cool artists we have had the opportunity to interview. One such moment in time is when country music star Tracy Byrd played at the Iowa Rabbit Festival back in 2015.

I have been emceeing this great event, the Iowa rabbit Festival since 2004 and they always have phenomenal talent each year. Well back in 2015, the headliner that weekend was Tracy Byrd.

We had interviewed Tracy on the air that week during the morning show but we actually had the chance to catch up with him at the festival.

We did the meet and greet first with all the Gator 99.5 listeners who had won tickets to the event. Then after the meet and greet, we went on Tracy's bus to do a interview.

We asked him why he had taken a few years off. Tracy is from Southeast Texas so we asked him about when he first started his career in the honky tonks and nightclubs in Southeast Texas and how he eventually got his record deal.

Tracy is just one of the nicest guys out there in country music. He has become a friend to me since then and we are so happy that he is back out on the road touring again and bringing his great music back to his fans.
