File this under you have to see it to believe it, literally. The only way to be more literal is if they showed up in full pirate garb with eye patches.

A woman named India Gardner from Detroit posted on her Instagram that her porch was missing when she got home from work.

After making the post above, not many people believed her, so she posted the video below.

On the bright side, she now has a chance to rake up all that trash that was under her porch. But seriously, what would motivate a person or people to do this? If you really sit down and think about it, it's slightly funny.

Ever since the beginning of the pandemic, I've been ordering more stuff from Amazon than usual. Many times, I have walked outside or come back from work and my package is on my top step in full view of the road, just waiting to be plucked by some lucky thief.

Let me set the scene for you. I have a large, elevated wooden porch on my house. When you walk up the stairs, you turn right to get to my door. If the mail carrier would leave my packages by my front door, you could only see the package if you walked up to my it. However, they don't even take the extra two seconds to walk up my stairs. They just, for the most part, place the package on my top stair. And like I said before, it's in full view of the road, shining like a lighthouse to guide a porch pirate safely in to collect their booty. Luckily, I live a good neighborhood and I haven't lost a package yet, but I realize my luck on the odds of it happening are going to catch up with me one day.

I say all that not only to vent, but to also say that if my porch was stolen, my mind would be blown. So in a way, I empathize with India.

Reportedly, Gardner is filing a police report to find her stolen porch. We wish her the best of luck.
