Starbucks is making big changes, and customers in Texas will start seeing these updates soon. The coffee chain, which has struggled with declining sales and fewer visitors, is bringing back some old-school touches to improve the customer experience.

Starbucks locations have been popping up all over Texas over the last few years. Texas currently has 1,494 Starbucks locations.

Starbucks is one of the most popular coffee shops in the world, and it’s known for its wide variety of delicious coffee flavors. Some of the fan favorites include the rich and creamy Caramel Macchiato, the sweet and spiced Pumpkin Spice Latte, and the refreshing Iced White Chocolate Mocha. For those who love a little chocolate, the Mocha is always a great pick, and if you’re in the mood for something simple, their classic Caffè Latte is a go-to.

My favorite drink at Starbucks is always the Peppermint Mocha which they say you can only get during the holidays, but spoiler alert, you can get it any time of the year!

Per Multiple Reports, Starbucks all across Texas will be making some pretty big changes moving forward. Some fans may be a bit excited over a few of these.

The changes at Starbucks are happening to help Starbucks’ effort to turn things around after three straight quarters of declining sales and customer visits. Global sales at stores open for at least a year dropped 7% last quarter, while the number of customer transactions fell by 8%. Starbucks’ leadership hopes these changes will win back customers and improve the overall experience.

One of the biggest changes is the return of condiment bars. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Starbucks removed these stations to limit contact, but customers have been asking for them to return. Now, you’ll be able to fix your coffee just the way you like it with milk, sugar, and other toppings readily available again. This move is expected to make things easier for both customers and baristas, who have been overwhelmed with customizing drinks.

Starbucks is also bringing back handwritten names on cups. Baristas will use Sharpies to personalize your drink, a small but thoughtful touch that’s part of CEO Brian Niccol’s plan to bring back the “personal” in personal service. The company even aired a new TV commercial highlighting this change. To make it happen, Starbucks had to find 200,000 Sharpies for locations across the U.S. and Canada.

In addition to these changes, Starbucks is tweaking its policies to make stores more enjoyable for everyone. Starting next week, only paying customers can use the seating areas and restrooms. The company said this decision came after hearing feedback from both customers and employees who wanted a cleaner and more comfortable environment. Panhandling, vaping, and consuming outside alcohol will also be banned inside stores.

Another exciting change is the expansion of free refills. Previously, this perk was only available to Starbucks Rewards members, but now all paying customers can enjoy free refills on hot or iced coffee and tea when served in ceramic mugs or clean personal cups brought from home. This encourages sustainability while offering more value to customers.

Texas customers can look forward to enjoying these updates soon. Whether it’s the return of milk and sugar stations or the small joy of seeing your name handwritten on a cup, Starbucks is working to bring back the charm that made it a favorite coffee spot in the first place.
